MultiAir module
Rough running, jerking and misfires in 1.4 MultiAir engines are often related to the MultiAir module. This system is very sensitive to oil quality and level — regular oil changes are the best prevention.
Timing — belt and chain
JTDm diesels use a timing belt replaced at a set interval, while 1.75 TBi petrol engines use a chain and a variator. Rattling after startup is a signal to have it checked.
TCT transmission
Jerking when pulling away and transmission warnings on the Giulietta and MiTo — we check the clutches, the actuator and the oil, and carry out the adaptation after the service.
Front suspension
Knocking, play and uneven tyre wear — control arms, bushings and links are the typical points to check, especially on the 159 and Giulietta. After replacement we set the wheel alignment.
EGR, DPF and swirl flaps
